The Story of Bare Skin

Bare Skin was not a long-planned business. It all started with curiosity and a few months of traveling with my family around Asia.

That was where I first saw a different approach to skincare up close. Since my background is in cosmetology, I naturally wanted to try everything, delve into the ingredients, and understand what made these products so special.

By the end of the trip, my suitcase was so full of cosmetics that I had to say goodbye to a few pairs of shoes just to make everything fit. I had no idea then that, along with that suitcase, I was bringing home the beginning of what would become Bare Skin.

Upon returning to Lithuania, I started looking for the products I had discovered in Asia, but many of them simply weren't here. At that time, you could only find a few Korean cosmetic brands that had already become popular in Europe, while what people were actually choosing in South Korea itself had not yet reached Lithuania.

That is how Bare Skin was born.

Our first warehouse was a simple cupboard at home. We prepared orders ourselves and were sincerely happy for every single person who decided to trust us.

From the very beginning, we were more interested in searching for what will be valued tomorrow than following what is popular today. We were the first in Lithuania to introduce "Anua," "Torriden," "Cos De Baha," and "Illiyoon" – brands that are well-known today but were not available here at the time. We believed in their products ourselves and wanted our customers to be able to try them too.

Gradually, the cupboard was no longer enough. We moved to our first premises, and later a team and a physical store were added.

From the early days of Bare Skin, we also dreamed of a Korean cosmetics advent calendar, but at the time, such a project was too big for us. A few years later, we realized this dream – we created the first Korean cosmetics advent calendar in Lithuania, from the box design to every product inside it. We created one that we ourselves would want to receive, and when the entire stock of our first calendar sold out in just one week, we realized that our customers believed in this idea as well.

Bare Skin remains a family business to this day, and as we grow, what we want most is to preserve what has been important to us from the very first days – a human connection.

We are building a store where we would want to shop ourselves, and we serve our customers the way we would want to be served.

In e-commerce, there is no face-to-face meeting with the buyer, so we build this connection in other ways. We don't just want to sell and ship products. We want a Bare Skin package to be a pleasure to open and for you to feel that it was prepared for you, not just for another order number.

Even in our online store's chat window, it is still not an artificial intelligence that responds, but a member of the Bare Skin team, capable of delving into your question and advising you based on your specific skin needs.

To us, good service lies in the small things – how the package is wrapped, what information you find with the product, how you are greeted in the store, and whether you can feel at ease asking questions and seeking advice.

Behind Bare Skin are people who care about what they recommend to you, what they put into your package, and how you will feel when you open it.

Thank you for being part of our story. 🤍
